Trevor Jacobs Jr. has turned himself in to the police after the lawmen on Tuesday issued a wanted bulletin on the 20-year-old. Jacobs Jr. along with his attorney Vere Bird Jr. and his mother Jacintha Lewis-Dixon went to the Police Headquarters about 6:42 yesterday morning. The AntiguaSun understands that Jacobs Jr. and his mother went to the attorney’s home shortly after 6 a.m. so that he could accompany them to the station. Reports are that the lawmen had issued an advisory against Jacobs Jr. whom they had described as armed and dangerous. They (the police) also cautioned members of the public not to approach him. According to the police, the 20-year-old youth was being sought in connection with robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. It is alleged that Jacobs Jr. was spotted in Clarkes Hill on 29 Jan., and after he saw the police he ran. Further allegations are that he had a sawed-off shotgun in his possession. The police had sent out incorrect information regarding the young man in relation to alleged offences. They had wrongfully linked him to the Herbert’s Supermarket robbery. However, based on a public outcry by his mother via the media that her son could not have committed the offence because he was in police custody, the police have since apologised, saying that they inadvertently sent out the information linking Jacobs Jr. to the crime. |
